James Avery
St. Teresa Cross

The St. Teresa Cross is 3/8" long. St. Teresa of Avila was born to an aristocratic Castilian family in 1515. Teresa's mother died when Teresa was 14, and her father sent her to be educated by Augustinian nuns. Teresa decided to become a nun herself, and at the age of 20 she entered the Carmelite convent of the Incarnation of Avila. Much later, Teresa established a convent that embraced a stricter form of life for Carmelite nuns, a convent which eventually grew and is thought of as a reformation of the Carmelite order.
