Dogwood Flower Charm

The Dogwood Flower Charm is 9/16" long.

Dogwood trees display a variety of colors throughout the seasons. In the spring pink or white flowers grace their branches, and fall brings bright berries and scarlet-colored leaves.

The dogwood has a special significance for Christians. Legend states that the cross on which Christ was crucified was made of dogwood. Once as mighty as the oak, the dogwood became a slender tree after the Crucifixion, and its flowers bore the signs of Christ's passion. At the edge of each flower petal is a tiny mark, symbolic of Our Lord's nail prints. A tiny circular pattern at the center of the flowers is reminiscent of the Crown of Thorns.
