50th Anniversary Wall Cross

The 50th Anniversary Wall Cross 6 1/4" W x 7 7/8" H. laser engravable only.

The symbolism of this cross depicts 5 important events in the life of Christ and some important Christian symbols. It was designed in thanksgiving for the fifty years during which this company has enjoyed prosperity and a multitude of blessings.

At the very top is Christ's baptism in the waters of the River of Jordan by John the Baptist. The descending dove shown just below is reflective of God's presence at this event.

On the left arm, Christ is shown washing the feet of his disciples to teach them that "The servant is not greater than his lord, " (John 13:16).

On the right arm, Christ is blessing small children, as we are told in the scripture, "Suffer the little children to come unto me." (Mark 10:14).

In the center of the cross is depicted Christ's Crucifixion. On either side are two crucified thieves, one of whom rebuked him and the other who asked to be remembered when Christ entered his kingdom. (Luke 23:42-43)

The sheaf of wheat to the left represents the bread, or the Body of Christ. The grapes to the right symbolize the wine, or the Blood of Christ. Both the bread and the wine are given in the sacrament of communion, just as Christ instructed at the Last Supper, "Do this in remembrance of me." (Luke 22:19).

Near the bottom of the cross is Christ as a shepherd guarding his flock. Christ calls himself the Good Shepherd, meaning that he loves and cares for his followers just as a shepherd cares for his sheep.

At the bottom is the Pieta, showing the grieving Mary with the body of Christ, her beloved son.
